Affiliate disclosure

How The LLC Standard makes money, and the rules that keep it from influencing what we publish.

The LLC Standard is free to read. It is funded by affiliate commissions: when you buy a product through some of our links, the provider may pay us a fee. You pay the same price either way.

Which links are affiliate links

Links to providers go through addresses that begin with /go/ (for example /go/doola/). These are marked rel="sponsored" for search engines. Links to the IRS, state offices and other sources are ordinary links.

Our current relationships

ProviderCommercial relationship
doola Affiliate program — we may earn a commission
Firstbase Affiliate program — we may earn a commission
Northwest Registered Agent Affiliate program — we may earn a commission
Stripe Atlas None — we earn nothing
Bizee Affiliate program — we may earn a commission

We may also earn referral fees from business banking and payment providers mentioned in our guides.

What commissions do not change

  • Rankings and "best for" labels are decided on our published criteria before commissions are considered.
  • We publish each provider’s weaknesses, including those that pay us.
  • We include and recommend providers that pay us nothing when they are the right choice.
  • Providers cannot pay for placement, see reviews before publication, or edit what we write.

This disclosure is provided in line with the US Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides.
